Four Steps to Living a Life You Love

Over the next few articles I will be discussing what I have found to be an invaluable process for authentic and powerful living. Try it out and watch what happens in your own life!

Step One

Spend more time in the present moment.

As human beings we tend to spend alot of time thinking about the future and the past. In fact thinking can only happen when we are focussed on what has already happened or what is about to happen. We cannot alter what has happened nor can we predict with any certainty what is about to happen. Yet the real essence of all life can only be found here and now where the mind is absent.

When we are obsessed with thinking we start to forget that we have hearts as well. When we tune into our feelings we open ourselves to intuiting rather than thinking. Excessive thinking is a way of distracting ourselves from how we feel.

Our thinking mind is a fantastic tool which we couldn’t survive without for long during our short visit to this earthly realm. Yet unchecked it soon becomes a destructive master which causes us much suffering. Our thinking disconnects us from the source of all – the power of love!

In his teachings the mystic Osho who was often been described as “the most dangerous man in the world since Jesus Christ” talks about the three L’s – Life Love  Light. In life we try to control and manipulate outcomes through fear of our very survival – this is the domain of the thinking mind which keeps us focussed back in the past or towards an imagined future.

Love however is only accessible in the present moment when the thinking mind is absent. The more we experience Love the more we live in the light which is where we eventually end up at our death. Yet our lives can take on a different lustre when we experience life in the light while we are still physically alive.

The source of all Love is channelled through our heartfelt feelings. The way to giving and experiencing more love is through a feeling approach to life which to many can be scary because it makes us vulnerable and it is this very vulnerability we have spent most of our lives avoiding at all costs through the development of powerful personalities which we mistakenly believe will protect us.

The mind equates to force. Living life at a feeling level is a far more powerful way of living. It is a genuine and authentic way of living. We open ourselves to the powerful realisation that we are far more powerful than we could have ever imagined.

To reconnect to our inherent power we need to live more in the moment where there are no mental abstractions to divert our attention. Be aware and avoid the trance-like state that can overcome us quickly if we are not vigilent.

Take  HEART!
