It’s a Kind of Magic!

While those very words have been immortalised in song by the late great Freddy Mercury we can also relate them to something far more directly personal to all of us.

We live our lives as master magicians in our own magic show. We consistently manage to pull the rabbit out of the hat and blindly convince ourselves that we are indeed magical whereas in reality it is all slight of hand or mind to be more exact?

In our daily interactions with others we participate in a continual learning dynamic. Illusion is part of this dynamic as it allows us to get some clarity on what we need to understand about ourselves to recover our wholeness. As such it is a creation of our personalities.

Each of us has different needs and so every situation we encounter has the ability to serve those needs.

Our illusions are the stories we tell ourselves about was is happening to us – this is good or this is bad and so on……..These stories are all judgment based perceptions designed to reinforce our splintered psyches. If we remain asleep and under the grip of fear and doubt and the emotions that follow we will continue to accept these stories as part of our reality. We will then continue to be fooled by the magic and will continue to see rabbits everywhere.

When the illusion holds sway over us we continue to be disempowered as we are unconsciously compelled by the wants, impulses and values of our personalities. These compulsions are determined by both the  karma of our souls and some by the karma we create during our lives.

If on the other hand we remain awake and consciously choose to look beyond the smokescreen of all that “magic dust” we can re-intend a new reality. One which is more authentically aligned with our souls and which expresses love, compassion, creativity and joy.

It’s okay to practice magic just so long as you do not fall under your own spell!
