Four Steps to Living a Life You Love

Over the next few articles I will be discussing what I have found to be an invaluable process for authentic and powerful living. Try it out and watch what happens in your own life! The following is the fourth and final article in this series.

Step Four

This is all about learning not to “Edge God Out” or in other words learning to control our Ego’s. The Ego’s catch phrase is “its all about “me”! Nobody and nothing else matters! I am a legend in my own lunchtime! Ego is the master controller of all the little personalities we clothe ourselves with.

When we start to believe that we are somebody then we have become disconnected from our source. Ego and love cannot exist together. In reality Ego is a virtual mind made construct. It is the King of all our unrealities!

We can trace the devlopment of the Ego back to when Adam and Eve were evicted from the Garden of Eden. During the slow process of our evolution we reached a point when we became self-conscious. This is what separates us from other creatures inhabiting Planet Earth – our ability to be conscious about ourselves and our surroundings. It is that ability alone which has separated us from the “Garden Paradise/Heaven” which we had previously occupied and which now causes us so much pain and suffering while we occupy our own little versions of reality.

This step is all about returning to and experiencing more Heaven than Hell through being nothing! This does not mean that we become like monks and live lives of solitude in caves in the Himalayas. Quite the opposite in fact. We can with practice the peace of nothingness right where we are in our daily lives. The art of being nothing simply involves being meditative at intervals throughout the day. Through such a practice we can reconnect with the silent and peaceful source of all things. It is like medicine to our aching minds.

This and the previous Steps are not designed to ignore the fact that we live in a world where we will continue to experience the vast vissitudes of both positive and negative aspects of living. It is only through these experiences that we can be challenged and grow to attain our full potential. However, they can give us much needed relief when things do get on top of us and we become overwhelmed with the stresses and pressures of life and it gives us a more holistic perspective to our little problems and worries.

We are after all Divine Beings having a human experience!
